Saturday we did a trial for soccertots. It is a pretty cool program for young children to engage in physical activity www.soccertots.net They use soccer balls and goals, but also cones, disks and parachutes... they don't play actual games nor necessarily learn the rules of the sport, but for beginners like Ava and Bryce it seemed perfect. Plus the winter session is indoors... and mommy and daddy are all for exercise, burning energy especially when they are running around somewhere other than our house! :)
The trial was a definite success! Ava loved it! There were only boys in this class, but it didn't stop her... she listed to Coach Lori and was actually pretty good. :) Daddy was proud. Bryce's class was parent participation. We had fun! It was a little harder on the occasions when he was glued to my leg, but he did kick the ball around and chase hoola hoops. We signed Ava up for the winter session, and are very excited. We might give the budget and the schedule a short break and wait a year to sign the B-man up, but we're still deciding. I have a new appreciation for my parents... for 10+ years my two sisters and I ALL played soccer, often on three different teams... that was quite a time commitment each Saturday. We all have fond memories though so hopefully Ava and one day Bryce will too!
