Look out Tiger...

We had beautiful weather this weekend in Georgia. We decided to take the kids to play putt-putt for the first time. Now Brandon and I were the paying customers, and we didn't hit many balls, but it was still a good time. At least maybe we taught Ava a little about the game. Since when we first mentioned it, she told me, only boys play golf. She felt better when the girls could play if they at least used pink balls.

Second preconception involves water on the holes. We were doing great until hole 9... the kids were taking turns, they learned not to pick up their ball every shot, to aim for the hole, etc. Until mom hits her pink ball and it hits a rock, bounces out of bounds and rolls into the water. Oops! We didn't expect the meltdown that would follow. Ava was very upset that I would do this and very concerned about my ball (see picture). When she finally agreed to finish up the back nine, she would only play the holes without water in sight. Ok... we worried tremendously about hole 18 because we suspected the balls would be gone forever and that might really bother her. We explained that on the last hole, the balls go in a tunnel taking them all the way to the beginning so that more people are able to play golf. She was fine. Bryce on the other hand stuck his arm down in the tunnel so far that I was afraid it was going to get stuck. Fun times!
