We spent the morning wrapping a few last minute gifts and then headed out for a family movie at the big screen. Bryce took a quick nap, and we continued our tradition of church and dinner. Brandon grilled us some awesome tenderloin and the kids made a birthday cake for Jesus.
I had tried to cut back on the sweets (for my own sake) and offer Santa some of Jesus' birthday cake. Ava wanted nothing to do with that. She was pretty clear that Santa wanted/needed chocolate balls (aka Buckeyes like last year) http://familyofgracie.blogspot.com/2009/12/christmas-eve_24.html - she sure knows Santa well. Bryce cracks me up in this next picture. He was pouting because he couldn't have any chocolate balls.
Bryce cheered up as Ava reminded them they needed to feed Santa's reindeer and our annual reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas and Jesus birthday story for the Bible. I have never seen Ava go to bed so quickly. She saw on the radar that Santa was headed her way. That meant she needed to be asleep asap. Such fun ages.
