Today was Bryce's 12 month checkup. Here were his stats:
Length 31 1/2 inches 90th %ile
Weight 25 pounds and 6 ounces 80th %ile
Head 19 cm 90th %ile
Percentiles are identical to his 9 month appointment. One difference from his 9 month is that they drew blood again and determined he was no longer anemic (probably due to help of formula since mommy is usually anemic and weaned since the last appointment). We also had double ear infections which was ironic because we went to the doctor before Thanksgiving swearing we had one and we didn't... now he seems a lot better and we did. Oh well.
He is active a lot of fun. Standing up on his own but not taking many steps yet. He will when he is holding on to a push toy or furniture. Some time there is one step or two as he reaches for the furniture, but we are awaiting more continuous steps. He has four front top teeth and just two on the bottom. He is eating more solid food, but still LOVES baby food. I always hear about babies just saying no more of this mush, but I swear Bryce acts as if he would eat it forever. We are trying to drop the bottles and the baby food. He does fine with whole milk and will eat most solids if they are cut small and hid in applesauce. Ava had a similar stage way back when.
He is a talker. His daddy was apparently very quiet and shy... but so far Bryce is going to compete with big sister to get words in. He repeats a lot of words already. His latest favorites are: uh oh, go and no (both usually talking to Gracie), cheese (admitting we take a lot of pictures), hey, Ava, ho ho ho (which sounds like ha ha ha), thank you and I love you. The rest is hard to understand but it seems if he doesn't know the word he says "ga ga ga" so we hear that a lot. We thought he was calling the dog Gracie that... but now it seems to be something he says about a lot of things.
So you can see his stats in action... here are the slideshows with pictures from each month - I started at two months old. The first month was too busy, and he turned one month the day after Christmas last year...
This one I compared him against the animal pillows on the twin bed in his room. No wonder a lot of his clothes are 18 - 24 months and some even 2T.
