Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a lot of fun! As if it wasn't enough that earlier this month...
Ava made a gingerbread train with Aunt LaLa,
Then Ava and Dada made rice crispy treat houses,
Of course, Bryce and Ava each made their own gingerbread houses at Nana's.
On Christmas Eve, we decided per our traditions, we needed to make a birthday cake for Jesus (loaded with sprinkles) AND cookies for Santa. With all the sugar (see pictures), I don't know how Ava fell asleep before Santa visited, but she did. And in case you didn't know, Santa's cookie request was Buckeyes... at least that was the case at our house.

Ava wrapped the rest of her Christmas presents in her Dora wrapping paper and we were off to the Children's Sing-A-Long service at church. It was a little crazy... and truly an accurate name, children make requests and everyone sings-a-long! Apparently, it wasn't just our kids that had a lot of sugar that day... jk!

We came home to a yummy Christmas Eve dinner. Yes, I even let the wild man eat on my Christmas china in the dining room. For Christmas, Mommy and Daddy give the kids 3 small presents like the wiseman do in the story of Jesus' birth. We read the story on Christmas Eve and let them open one of their presents before sprinkling their reindeer food (in the rain) and heading to bed. You will see a theme this year, many of their gifts from us and their stockings are very similar. As close as they are in age, we find that they typically want what the other has. So we get slightly different versions of the same thing and they trade back and forth. I would imagine that this won't last long (especially with a boy and a girl), but for now, it seems to work.

Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night!
