So daddy was home most of this week so we tried to play a little. Tuesday night we went to a local farm to ride a hayride to look at Christmas lights. The kids loved the tractor, the lights and seeing the live reindeers. It was the same farm we visited around Halloween so we got to feed camels again. It was actually a nice night, not too chilly and we were first in line so not too crowded. We went to Cracker Barrel on the way home to finish off the night with a home cooked country dinner.

Wednesday morning we ventured to Macy's to ride the Pink Pig. This is a Southern tradition starting in 1953 when Priscilla the Pink Pig debuted as a monorail ride at Rich's department store in downtown Atlanta. Today, there is a short train ride in a tent in the Macy's parking lot. From when we lived in Atlanta the first time, Brandon and I have always heard about "the pig." We had planned to go earlier in the month but never got around to it so today was the day. Apparently, today was the day for many other people because I am pretty sure we waited longer to ride the pig than we did for any ride at Disney World. But... I did hear, the Pink Pig is to Atlanta as The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is to New York... and if you put it that way, it was so worth it! No really it was worth it because the kids really did LOVE it. I mean it is a train in the shape of a pig... was there any question? Definitely a new tradition for our family, but next year, we will go earlier in the month.
