I think we usually celebrate with one family around Christmas and one around New Year's. This year we did it the weekend before Christmas in order to incorporate it with the Polar Express. I personally liked doing it before Christmas for a few reasons... one we actually couldn't wait until the last minute for shopping and preparation and often by New Years we are just worn out. We woke up Saturday morning as if it was Christmas. All the grandkids are at such fun ages, they had a wonderful morning as did the new grand-dog Lady.
That evening we went on a sleigh ride before a delicious dinner.
